This Ginger Turmeric Tea is perfect for those looking to heal their gut, decrease bloating, reduce inflammation, manage free radicals, aid digestion, and more. It’s truly a healing tea and it’s also easy to make! It takes just a few minutes to prep, then 10 minutes to simmer and it’s all set.

Nutritional benefits of this tea

Ginger – Reduces intestinal gas, bloating, and inflammation. It also helps detoxification and helps reduce nausea, so it’s great when sick.

Turmeric – Reduces inflammation, fights free radicals, improves liver function, improves mood, and provides pain relief.

Cinnamon – has antioxidants and is anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, and anti-microbial.

Raw honey is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. It’s also shown to help with environmental allergies if you get raw honey that’s local to where you live. Beeswax is even more efficient at the allergy fighting properties! Raw honey is also great when sick because it helps coat your throat, reducing a cough and sore throat.

Ingredients

Water

Fresh ginger root

Fresh turmeric root

Cinnamon – optional but adds a delicious flavor and also helps reduce blood sugar!

Raw honey – optional for sweetness.

Other optional additions: Fresh mint, lavender, milk thistle for liver support, ashwagandha for stress relief, etc.

Method

  1. Slice the ginger and turmeric and place in a pot with the cinnamon sticks and water.
  2. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and pour into mugs. Add honey if desired.

Modifications

  • Add any fresh herbs such as mint, lavender, thyme, etc.
  • Add fresh citrus such as orange or lemon for extra flavor and nutrients.
  • Add superfoods:
    • Milk thistle powder for liver detox support
    • Ashwagandha powder for stress support

  1. A new go to tea for me. I love that it uses fresh turmeric and ginger because I’ve been trying to put them in my diet more. I make batches of the tea and drink it throughout the week just by warming up a cup on the stove. I think the ginger flavor might get stronger over time but still delicious.
