This Cherry & Granola Yogurt Bowl is easy as can be and completely customizable to what you have on hand or what you’re specifically craving! It’s a high protein breakfast and snack option to fill you up and keep you satiated. It’s a great way to introduce colorful fruit into your diet, too!

Nutritional benefits of this recipe

This isn’t all of them, but a few of my favorite!

  • Cherries are rich in polyphenols, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. They also have a low glycemic index and glycemic load for those looking for blood sugar friendly food.
  • Coconut is also rich in polyphenols, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. It also contains large amounts of medium-chain fatty acids, which have been proven to improve brain function and cholesterol levels.
  • Yogurt, particularly grass-fed whole milk yogurt, is rich in nutrients, probiotics, and healthy fats. It helps keep you satiated and introduces a healthy protein into your day.

Ingredients

Yogurt – You can use any yogurt. I used a grass-fed whole milk yogurt.

Fresh cherries – You can add other fresh fruit such as berries, diced figs, diced apricot, etc.

Granola – I have several granola recipes posted on my website. Check them out here or by searching “granola” in the search bar!

Shredded coconut – optional

Drizzle of honey

Other toppings – some other ideas are nuts, seeds, cacao nibs, choc chips, etc.

Method

  1. Add yogurt to a bowl and top with the rest of the ingredients. Enjoy!

Is yogurt healthy?

Absolutely, as long as you are not lactose-intolerance and you are purchasing a high-quality yogurt, it’s a great addition to a balanced diet. So what kind of yogurt is “healthy”? If we’re getting as technical as possible – Raw, grass-fed yogurt is ideal. However, I know not everyone has access to raw yogurt, so at least just search for grass-fed if you eat it regularly!

What if I’m dairy-free?

You can absolutely opt for a healthy dairy-free alternative such as Cocoyo or Cocojune. When searching for yogurt, just be wary of poor quality ingredients such as natural or artificial flavors, excess sugar, etc. Always read the nutrition labels!
