Coconut Chocolate Cake Donuts (gluten-free, dairy-free)

Breakfast, Dairy-Free, Gluten-Free 0 comments

These donuts are Paleo, gluten-free, dairy-free, and low-carb. They’re super easy to make and have a fluffy but also gooey texture, almost like cake donuts!

If you don’t like the taste of coconut, then you can sub the coconut oil for melted butter or ghee. That would be just as delicious! You could also sub avocado oil as well, for a flavorless and dairy-free alternative.

What if I don’t like coconut?

If you don’t like the taste of coconut, then no worries! You can sub the coconut oil in the recipe for avocado oil (I prefer Primal Kitchen), butter, or ghee.

Ingredients

Dry:

1 cup super-fine almond flour (I use Bobs Red Mill)

1/4 cup coconut flour (Arrowhead Mills)

1/4 cup cacao powder

1/4 cup coconut sugar

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

Wet:

2 eggs

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

1/4 cup + 1 Tbsp coconut oil, melted*

1/4 cup + 1 Tbsp unsweetened almond milk, or other milk of choice

Melted chocolate coating:

1/2 cup chocolate chips

1 tsp coconut oil

Instructions

Donuts:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F
  2. Mix together dry ingredients
  3. Mix in wet ingredients
  4. Put mixture into donut pan. It won’t pour, so you’ll have to form it into the pan.
  5. Bake for 12 minutes
  6. Take out oven and let cool in pan
  7. Remove from pan and add melted chocolate if desired

Melted chocolate coating:

  1. Melt together then pour over donuts after cooked

Notes

*If you don’t like the taste of coconut, then you can sub the coconut oil for melted butter or ghee. That would be just as delicious! You could also sub avocado oil as well, for a flavorless and dairy-free alternative.
