This flavorful salsa is perfect to use as dip for chips or as a topping for chicken, fish, salads, and more. Pineapple Salsa pairs so well with my recipe for Fish Tacos!
Nutritional benefits of this recipe
- This recipe is full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, polyphenols, and healthy fiber from all the fruit and veggies.
- Cilantro is a superfood and helps detox heavy metals.
Ingredients
Pineapple – I recommend using fresh pineapple, not canned.
Avocado – You’ll want it ripe, but still slightly firm. You don’t want to use a mushy avocado.
Bell pepper
Onion – I used red for extra color and flavor
Jalapeño – Optional. Use to preference
Cilantro – It makes it so delicious!
Lime – You’ll use both the zest and the juice
Ground cumin
Salt
How to make pineapple salsa
- Dice up the fruit and veggies as instructed.
- Mix it all together in a bowl with the lime juice, lime zest, ground cumin, and salt.
- Enjoy immediately or refrigerate for 30 minutes to make it cool.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a day or two, depending on how ripe your avocado is. If you omit the avocado, it may be good for several days.
Modifications for Pineapple Salsa
- Add a touch of chili powder for extra flavor.
- Add extra jalapeno for a spicy salsa. Or add a few dashes of ground cayenne pepper.
- Replace some of the pineapple with mango for a mango pineapple salsa.
- If you don’t like cilantro, you can omit it, or replace it with a little bit of fresh parsley.
