Bright, bubbly Healthy Mojito Mocktail with fresh mint, lime, and raw honey – simple, nourishing, and alcohol-free!

Ingredients

Units Scale

10-12 fresh mint leaves

0.5 - 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, to preference (1 small-medium juicy lime)

8g (1 tsp) raw honey, to preference

5 oz sparkling water or club soda - I personally used San Pellegrino sparkling mineral water

Crushed ice (I used 6 oz)

Sliced lime for garnish

Instructions

  1. Put mint into a small glass cup and gently mash with a muddler.
  2. Add lime juice and a drizzle of honey and stir together.
  3. Add 5 oz of sparkling water or club soda, stir together, then top off with lots of crushed ice. Crushed ice or small pebbled/cubed ice works best, I don’t recommend big ice cubes because the mint leaves will float to the top
  4. Garnish with lime wedges.
  5. I would love a comment and rating if you give this recipe a try! Thanks so much!

Note about the water you use: Sparkling water is simply carbonated water with no added minerals, giving it a clean, crisp taste. Club soda (also known as soda water) is carbonated water with added minerals, which adds a bit more depth of flavor. Natural sparkling mineral water (like San Pellegrino) comes from mineral springs and contains naturally occurring minerals with gentle, natural carbonation, making it lighter and softer than sparkling water or club soda. Traditional mojitos use club soda.

Modifications and variations:

  • Get creative and add muddled fruit such as strawberries or raspberries. Strawberries are my favorite addition to this and I will definitely post a version in spring when they come in season!
  • Use more or less honey for your sweetness preference. I use 1 teaspoon and I would say it’s subtly sweet.
  • Adjust the amount of lime juice to preference.
  • Adjust the fresh mint to your liking. I like to use 10-12 leaves and lightly muddle them to release their flavor and aroma but also keep them mostly whole. The more you muddle, the more flavor you’ll extract, but they’ll also disintegrate a little which may not be as pleasant to sip on.
