My husband orders a lavender latte almost every time he goes to a coffee shop, so I decided to create a recipe that he can also make at home whenever he wants! I’m telling you, this refined sugar free Iced Lavender Latte is truly coffee-shop worthy and it doesn’t have ANY artificial syrups or flavors added. We’re just using straight dried lavender leaves for the lavender flavor, and we’re infusing it into the coffee by grinding it up with the coffee beans before brewing the espresso shots. This latte is then naturally sweetened using maple syrup, which is just sap from maple trees (I’m talking about real maple syrup, not the artificial pancake syrup!). You can also use honey for a “honey lavender” latte or you can use coconut sugar. Then, to top it all off, we opt for grass-fed milk from our local farmer. This latte is as good as it can get and it is a current favorite in our house.
Benefits of this recipe
- Lavender is touted for its benefits to reduce stress, relieve anxiety, improve sleep, and improve skin health.
- Maple syrup is a natural sweetener that is the sap from maple trees. It’s lower glycemic than typical refined sugars, it’s super rich in minerals like manganese, zinc, calcium, and potassium, and it has antioxidants and fiber.
- Purity Coffee is mold-free, mycotoxin-free, and free of pesticides and other contaminants. It’s my favorite healthy coffee brand at the moment!
- Using milk from grass-fed cows gives you a much purer, nutrient-dense milk. The cows live a more natural, healthy lifestyle and therefore their milk products are going to be more nutrient dense and healthier. I’m all for sustainable and regenerative farming, and using grass-fed dairy is a great way to do that.
Ingredients for Iced Lavender Latte
Dried lavender leaves – make sure these aren’t old/stale.
Coffee beans – I use Purity Coffee beans because they are mold-free. I always freshly grind up the beans for the freshest flavor instead of buying ground beans.
Grass-fed milk – I buy milk from an amazing farmer that’s local to me. I recommend always sticking with grass-fed and making sure you buy from a good farm. Our milk is also raw, but I know that’s not everybody’s thing.
Maple syrup – or sub honey or coconut sugar.
How to make a refined sugar free Iced Lavender Latte
- Grind up the dried lavender leaves with the coffee beans to make a double shot of espresso.
- Brew a double shot of espresso into a small mug.
- Fill a cup halfway with ice. Pour the lavender espresso shot over the ice then add the maple syrup and milk. Stir up and enjoy!
- If you don’t have an espresso machine: Although I haven’t tried this with other methods, I believe it should still work for regular drip coffee or French press etc. Just grind up the lavender leaves with the amount of coffee beans you would use to make an 8 oz cup of coffee.

Modifications
- Sub honey in place of the maple syrup for a “honey lavender” flavor. Or you can also use coconut sugar instead.
- Make a hot latte by putting the espresso in a coffee mug and adding hot/steamed milk and the maple syrup.
- As noted in the recipe card, you can adjust the amount of lavender to preference. I have found that 1/4 tsp gives a very mild flavor, 1/2 tsp is a medium strength flavor, and 3/4-1 tsp is a very strong flavor. So adjust the amount of dried lavender to preference! My husband loves 1 tsp because he loves it strong, but I think most people will likely enjoy more of a 1/2 tsp ratio. But it’ll really depend on preference.
- Make it dairy-free by using a coconut milk, cashew milk, almond milk, oat milk, etc. Whatever you prefer. I definitely love using whole, grass-fed milk for the flavor, nutrients, and protein, but if you typically use another milk then go for it!
