There’s something so magical about the balance of sweet and salty in this latte! This Salted Date Latte combines the rich, caramel-like sweetness of dates with a hint of sea salt and the boldness of espresso for a perfectly balanced and naturally sweetened coffee treat. Made with real date syrup and creamy grass-fed milk, it’s a nourishing, refined sugar–free alternative to most lattes that have refined sugars and artificial flavors. I hope you love it just as much as I do!
Nutritional benefits of this recipe
- Purity Coffee is mold-free, mycotoxin-free, and free of pesticides and other contaminants. It’s my favorite healthy coffee brand at the moment!
- Grass-Fed Milk – A great source of protein, calcium, and healthy fats. Grass-fed also contains more omega-3s and vitamin K2 compared to conventional milk.
- Dates are fruit that come from the date palm tree that’s native to the Middle East. They are rich in antioxidants, fiber, vitamins, and minerals and are a fantastic natural sweetener.
Ingredients for a Salted Date Latte
Espresso – I love using Purity Coffee because it’s mold-free, mycotoxin-free, and free of pesticides and other contaminants. I use the De’Longhi espresso machine.
Date syrup – buy a pure date syrup that is 100% dates. I used the date syrup by Date Lady.
Salt
Vanilla extract – optional for a little more depth.
Grass-fed milk – I love using whole, grass-fed milk for my lattes. It makes it rich and creamy and grass-fed milk a great source of protein, healthy fats, healthy carbohydrates, and calcium.
Optional: heavy cream if you want to homemake whipped cream for on top.

How to make a Salted Date Latte
- Brew a double shot of espresso into a mug, then whisk in the date syrup, salt, and vanilla extract if using.
- Steam the milk and pour into the mug.
- If desired, you can add some homemade whipped cream on top: Using a milk frother, whip the cream with the date syrup or maple syrup for about 15 seconds until thickened and creamy but still pourable. Pour on top of the latte. Sprinkle some ground cinnamon on top if desired and enjoy!
Modifications and variations
- Make it iced: Brew a double shot of espresso and pour into a 16-oz cup with the date syrup, salt, and vanilla extract if using. Mix together. Pour the milk into the mug and fill with ice. If desired, homemake whipped cream by whipping heavy cream and a drizzle of date syrup or maple syrup in a small cup for about 15 seconds until thickened and creamy but still pourable. Pour over top and enjoy!
- Omit the salt for just a regular date-sweetened latte.
