One of my favorite restaurants has a whipped goat cheese appetizer and it’s one of the most delicious appetizers ever! I decided to make my own whipped goat cheese and added some honey, fresh lemon juice, and thyme for a little extra depth. And I can confidently say one thing: My husband is obsessed with it! If you follow me on Instagram and saw my stories about it, then you’ll know how funny his first reaction to it was. So if you’re a goat cheese fan, then you’ll want to give this Whipped Goat Cheese with Honey & Thyme a try!

Nutritional benefits of this recipe

  • Goat cheese is a good source of calcium, phosphorus, Vitamin A, Vitamin B2, protein, healthy fats, CLA (conjugated linoleic acid), and more.
  • Thyme is rich in antioxidants, is antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and fantastic for immune health, skin health, and GI health.
  • Raw honey has antimicrobial and antibacterial benefits, is rich in antioxidants, and can help reduce seasonal allergies if you eat local, raw honey because of the bee pollen (aka getting a natural dose of your local pollen to strengthen your immune system!).

How to make Whipped Goat Cheese with Honey & Thyme

  1. Put all the ingredients in a food processor. Pulse several times until everything is incorporated, but do not over-blend. I noticed that I blended for too long and it turned from creamy to more liquidy. Just FYI!
  2. Transfer to a serving bowl, drizzle honey on top, and add fresh thyme leaves for a pretty look. Serve with pita, naan, sourdough, or even sliced tortillas (as pictured, I used homemade wheat tortillas lol!).
  3. Enjoy!

Modifications

  • Adjust all the ingredients to taste. I LOVE goat cheese, so I didn’t try altering the flavor of it too much – I just wanted a little hint of honey, lemon, and thyme, not too much. But if you would like a stronger flavor from one of them (or all), then add to taste.
  • I LOVE goat cheese, so I really wanted the flavor to truly shine through, so I added just a hint of fresh lemon and thyme for a little extra depth but not to be overpowering. If you would like a stronger flavor from one of them (or all), then add to taste.
