A perfect appetizer that comes together in under 15 minutes but is unique, nourishing, and dang delicious. This Zesty Yogurt Dip with Chili Oil is the best!

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup plain yogurt (250g) - I used whole-milk Nancy's grass-fed yogurt

1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice (9g) - use zest as garnish on finished dip

1 Tbsp chopped dill (3g), adjust to preference

1/8 tsp salt, to taste

Pinch of black pepper

Chili oil:

1/4 cup olive oil

1 very small shallot (25g, about 2 1/2 Tbsp), diced

1 thinly sliced garlic clove

1/4 cup diced walnuts (30g)

1 tsp red pepper flakes (2g)

1/4 tsp ground paprika

Pinch of salt

As garnish:

Dill

Lemon zest

Instructions

  1. Put the yogurt ingredients into a bowl and mix well.
  2. In a small saucepan, cook the diced shallot, thinly sliced garlic, diced walnuts, and red pepper flakes in the olive oil for a few minutes on low-medium heat. Stir in the salt and ground paprika.
  3. To serve: Put the yogurt mixture in a shallow serving bowl and drizzle with the chili oil. Garnish, if desired, with lemon zest, dill, or even some fresh grated parmesan.
  4. Serve with fresh toasted sourdough, baguette, etc.
