These pecans are one of my favorites! They add such a delicious crunch to salads, yogurt bowls, etc. They’re also an easy-to-grab dessert or snack, and they make the perfect gift for loved ones. I’ve given them as Christmas gifts in a cute package many times throughout the years, and people always love them! You’ll want to add these Butter Maple Candied Pecans to your regular rotation for sure.

Nutritional benefits of this recipe

  • Pecans contains healthy fats, vitamin E, antioxidants, flavonoids and ellagic acid.
  • Grass-fed butter is the best way to eat butter! Butter from grass-fed cows gives you a much purer, nutrient-dense product. The cows live a more natural, healthy lifestyle and therefore their milk products are going to be more nutrient dense and healthier. I’m all for sustainable and regenerative farming, and using grass-fed dairy is a great way to do that. Grass-fed butter is a superfood in my book!
  • Pure maple syrup is the sap from maple trees and is my personal favorite natural sweetener! It is rich in manganese, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, zinc, and copper. These minerals help with cell formation, maintaining healthy red blood cells, immune support, and more. Keep in mind it is very different from pancake syrup that’s maple-flavored.

Ingredients for Butter Maple Candied Pecans

Raw pecan halves

Butter – I always recommend grass-fed butter for best nutritional benefits. Also, I use salted butter in all of my recipes!

Pure maple syrup – this is NOT pancake syrup. This is pure maple syrup that is straight from the sap of maple trees – it’s delicious, nutrient-dense, and natural.

Ground cinnamon – this is optional.

Parchment paper – I use this unbleached parchment paper.

Modifications and variations

  • Feel free to mix in some other nuts or even just use another type altogether – walnuts especially would be fantastic in place of the pecans.
  • For an even lighter coating – you can decrease the butter to 3 Tbsp and the maple syrup to 2 Tbsp.
